Crescendo
was part of a CONCERT OF
CHILEAN MUSIC WITH CHILEAN MUSICIANS presented by the Latino
and Puerto Rican Affairs Commission of Connecticut (LPRAC) for
helping those affected by the widespread destruction of the
recent earthquake that affected the population of Chile. The
concert was held on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 4 p.m. at
the Immanuel Congregational Church, 10 Woodland St., Hartford,
CT. Alturas Duo on Andean instruments, the Crescendo
Chorus and Vocal Ensemble and the Baroque duo Les
Inégales performed works of the Chilean composers Juan Orrego-Salas, Doming Santa Cruz and Javier Farias among others.
The entrance fee was donated to the
Chilean American Foundation (CAF) - a non-profit, non
political, and autonomous organization chartered in Washington,
D.C. in 1980 to provide financial support for Chilean children
in need -- including addressing needs due to damage and
disruption caused by the earthquake. The Internal Revenue
Service recognizes it as a tax deductible organization.
