Crescendo ChorusCrescendo's Chorus consists of 40 - 50 auditioned singers selected from the tri-state area. Their first project was performed in November 2004. This ensemble appears at two yearly concerts, March/April and November, singing two concerts each time. The Chorus rehearses from January through June, and from September through November. Required rehearsals are weekly, with extra sectional rehearsals and group work during the summer months, and additional required rehearsals as concerts near. "Concert week" imposes additional requirements. Singers are encouraged to participate in Workshops and to take private singing lessons. The Crescendo Chorus has four section leaders (sometimes more, depending upon the repertory), and occasionally sectional accompanists for rehearsals. Around four paid soloists usually join the Chorus for the concerts. Study CDs with voice parts are provided. We sing in many foreign languages, and the repertoire is unusual. The average age of the Chorus is around 50 years. We are delighted to welcome a few teenagers and young adults who join the Chorus for each project. The chorus sign-up page is HERE.
